Over the last few days, when time allowed, I played with these hearts. I found some OLD crochet yarn that had been my mom's. While searching the sites lately I saw some 'spirelli' string art. I thought that would work with the Nestabilities scallops and this is what I came up with. I made as many hearts (13) that I had enough thread for. Then PLAYED to come up with 13 different cards. TFL :O)

I taped my string to the back side of the right lobe of the heart with the string going up.
Then I wound to the front to the bottom left side and kept working my way around to always the opposite slit, and then taped the end when done.
The crochet thread was a little thicker than normal thread and I had to put the heart up on dimentionals so it would lay flat.
These cards will go to family members that remember my mom who has been gone for quite a few years already, with a note that it is her crochet thread. - - We have a very small family so most family members should get one. I did not stamp for Valentines, Anniversary or anything. Then I can use them for whatever I want to.
Thanks for the kind words. I cannot believe that I CAME UP WITH THIS ALL BY MYSELF. When I saw the Spirelli punch at some site, I thought I can do this without purchasing a punch from them and then thought of my Nestabilities hearts.
Thanks again. I hope the directions work for you.
I been able to make some of these hearts now!! Thanks for sharing them!! How wonderful that you are able now to share the hearts with your family in memory of your mother!!!!
