This summer while we were on holidays, I saw a stunning little watercolour in the National Gallery in Ottawa, Ontario done in sepia tones. I stood and just stared at it, so beautiful in it's simplicity. It was a little scene done in the early 1800's of the Ottawa River Valley and I was mezmerized by the way the artist captured movement in the Ottawa River without using a whole palette of colours. *insert contented sigh*
I tried to capture the same feel with my copic markers, but it really reminds me of the black and white portion of 'The Wizard of Oz' instead!!! I used my full range of warm greys to colour this scarecrow, and decided to add a pop of colour with the pumpkin.
