Summer has flown and I am so far behind with the SCS challenges I was going to do that I can no longer recall which ones they were. You could say our summer took a sideways turn the day our basement flooded...
I have been trying to catch up on the QFTD challenges though and managed to make a few cards to honour some of the recent "recipients of the crown". Still have my list of the other SCS royalty that I haven't managed to CASE yet...
A very special great-aunt of mine recently passed away - she was 96 and her funeral was more of a celebration of a wonderful life than a sad occasion. She will be dearly missed by the entire family so I made seven different cards - one for each of her children.
The QFTD24 honour went to my "nearly a neighbour" and fellow Canuck peggy-sue. One of these days I'll find my way to her stamping place/safe haven. I actually chose two of Peggy-Sue's cards for inspiration. This one is a CASE of her Plant Hope card. I added the wings to the bird (love that punch!) and used Verve stamps for the greenery. Distressed the edges of the main panel instead of the faux stitching. Thanks for the inspiration my royal neighbour!

For some reason, I thought I needed to come back and check out any additional cards. Wow, good for me. I would have hated to have missed this one. I love how you stamped swirls inside the oval. Very pretty card. So sorry to hear about your loss.

Here is the other one that specifically jumped out. These colours work so well together and again you've created a very soothing sympathy card. I really like the distressed edges on this. I'm sorry for the loss of your special great aunt.

Ooh, this is really gorgeous. I may have told you that is one of my DIL's favorite verses. The crumb cake and green colors look great together.
