This collection of altered Puzzle Pieces is headed to my first puzzle piece swap. Each piece was created to celebrate a sport I truly enjoy... Diving.
2 pieces were created by applying a blue pigment ink, UTTE, and then using super tacky tape I attached a small strip of sandpaper to represent the ocean floor. Those two tiles then received a pearl and a sea turtle or angel fish which had micro-beads attached. I decided after making these two pieces that I wanted more details so I changed it up.
The next 14 of the pieces were stamped, colored with markers, and than a layer of UTTE was added. I carefully cut out the little diver girl.. fingers are really tricky and I now have a new appreciation for a sharp utility knife blade. I would never have been able to do this with scissors.
I used a foam square to lift the diver above the piece. They will attach easily to the adjacent pieces I'm sure.
