I wanted to make a birthday card to send someone with a photo of an Irish monastic site or something similar. As I looked through my photos and thought about it, I decided to use the Brick Wall technique to *frame* my image.
Printed the photo twice, and marked the bricks on the back of one photo. Stamped the front with Weathered in Milled Lavender. Numbered the bricks on the back and then cut them, trimming a fraction off the top of each strip and then off one side of each brick. Sponged the bottom ones with Vintage Photo and the upper ones with Stormy Sky. Trimmed the ones round the round tower to leave it behind the wall, and stuck them all on with foam tape. Added a couple of birds, sponged round the edge with blue. Then I decided to make a mask with the Photo Corner punch and sponged in blue corners. Added a birthday sentiment to finish it off.
The tower is at Kilmacduagh Co. Galway.
