Today's card is not for any any challenge, although I was inspired by Faith, aka markie's mom, and one of her wonderful Western cards!! Here's the link: SC289, StampinB, Speedy the Cat loves the WEST! by markie's mom at Splitcoaststampers I liked how she crumpled the paper and decided to try it myself!! I crumpled up a piece of paper and then dragged Mom's dark brown ink pad across it. I'm happy with the results and I hope you like it too!! The horse image is from The Angel Company and the sentiment is from SU. After I stamped the horse, I colored it in with colored pencils and then trimmed it down. I used a Creative Memories circle punch for the sentiment and its mat. The buttons are the final touch and are stuck down with glue dots. I hope you like my 18th card!!
It's actually my 16th post!!
Thanks for looking!!

This is fabulous, Joanna! Really strong color choices, and your technique for the background paper is so cool. It really does look like some crinkled, cracked leather. The howdy sentiment is a super choice for this Western-style card
Keep up your terrific creating!!
Lots of love,
Mom

You did great with the background. I like things neat and clean and tidy, so I find it really hard to crumple my paper up and smear it. The first time I ever tried it was on one of Faith's projects.
I like the pony image - my nieces and nephew all go horse-riding, and can you believe I don't have a single horse stamp! I have my eye on one, mind you.

I really like your crumpled paper technique. Good job and really like the sentiment, too.
