Penelope has made a beautiful new plaid dress for the tea party. The problem is it is a tad short and her lace petticoat shows at the bottom. I hope Uncle Grump will not be too upset that his granddaughter is showing her underclothes! She doesn't want her dress hauled to the dump.
I got three challenges into this card! I thought the plaid idea was fabulous. My mom has to clean out her craft room so it can be repainted. I was looking through her stuff before I moved it and found this stamp. I was so excited, a dress for Penelope and a solid surface to try out the plaid technique for TLC284! Kismet!! I took Julia's (Artystamper) advice from when she made the comfy chair and tried to make the bodice have a smaller line plaid to give the dress some definition. Ooh, there are some blooms in the BG paper for Blossum. Maybe the leaves can be made into tea for Bea.
Lastly, I can't make a layout on my own, so I went through my sketch challenge book and found SC224 that had a large enough focal panel to fit the dress. (Yeah Roxie!)
The dress was stamped, cut out and popped up on dimensionals.
MotherMark-I made it to Texas! I so love not having any schoolwork for a few weeks.

Fabulous dress!! I love it - the *fabric*, buttons, sash, lace petticoat peeking out. You did well getting the finer plaid for the bodice. I couldn't manage an intermediate one like that, my fine one was TOO fine and ended up in the bin.

Hey, when did you get here? Whoot! I see that you are having fun, enjoying your time off! Stinkin' school papers! Tea hee!
OMG! Look what you did here! What a great idea to make a plaid outfit for Penelope! The little tiny buttons and the *underwear* are sheer perfection! And oh! Don't worry about Uncle Grump....he met a teapotter (the love of his life!) and he has not been seen ever since! As a matter of fact the girls are back in the antique shop and the old water tank is being rennovated into a hot tub and patio area! The girls are so excited, their planning a wedding already! Keep your fingers crossed!!!
So glad you are back and that you found a treasure in your Mom's stuff! Life is good!!!
Okay, gotta go....Spit and Spat, the Cats, are at it again!!! Love your card!! Its awesome!

You sure mastered the plaid technique. Great use of the smaller print on the top and the larger print on the bottom. I would have never thought of such a thing but in RL that's how it would work... giggle... wonderful color combo too, do you think this comes in my size? lol... glad to see you'll be all dressed up for the teaparty.
