Hi! This card was made for today's Clean and Simple Callenge: Dr. Seuss. I chose, "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" as my inspiration for today's card. If you've read the book, and I have MANY times, you know that book only has the one 2 page spread about these fish...It's a book of tongue twisters that rivals Fox in Socks! Personally, my favorite childrens' book, when I was a pre-schooler, was, "And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street." It was written and illustrated in 1937 by Dr. Seuss and Robert Carington. I loved the book because it was the LONGEST book we owned, and my father would have to read it cover to cover to me before bed. I got to stay up REALLY late every night! Hey, I was NO DUMMY!
This also fits Speedy's Friends Challenge: Masculine card.
I decided to make a one layer card. Please, DO NOT FAINT! I know, it's impossible to believe, but I do make one layer cards! LOL
Today's card was made by dry embossing the CIRCLE to use as a frame. Next, I used the die to cut out a circle and used the "hole" as my mask. I stamped in the crab in Adirondack's Espresso and colored in with Memento Markers. Next, I stamped the crab onto copy paper and cut it out. I used it as a mask and stamped in the seaweed and ocean floor. I sponged in Distress Ink: Tumbled Glass for the water.
The sentiment is semi-Seussical, in that it's a made up word and slides off the tongue!
I embossed the bottom of the card base with a Spellbinders Impressabilities die and was done!
FISHnished card size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Total time to complete: 22 minutes. (Sound FISHY to you??? Well, ask Markie! I wanted to see the end of THE GLADES and rushed right through!)
