I loved making this card, even though I had the hardest time with the coloring. I had wanted the grass to be a much deeper green, but it looked like the wrong color green, for a grassy hillside, so I kept it light. I used a craft knife to cut out each cloud, tree and the balloon out, and I used popdots on the clouds and a tree, to keep it from looking too flat and one dimentional.
I wanted to stretch my comfort zone in the papers, colors and images used. I'm still not fully comfortable in this color range, but I am enjoying the process. I pretty much prefer coloring with pastels, but want to be comfortable with the brighter and bolder colors too.
On a better note, I think I'm getting a tiny bit better at my lighting with the photobox. It's a tad bright, but I'll keep playing with it, until I get something in between too bright and too dark
The stamp set is from Verve, called "Up, Up and Away". I love the idea of hot air balloon stamps, they are happy. I am also coveting Papertrey's hot air balloon stamps and dies too
