BevMom's DTGD challenge was a hard one for me as we don't have TV - I only ever had it during a very short period in my life. DH suggested Poirot as we've just been watching it on DVD, and with that as a starting point I was going to do Sherlock Holmes with my Snoopy stamp.
But then I got to thinking - I've been sending a few cards and photos to a friend of foxy67's who is in hospice and never going to make a dreamed-of trip to Ireland. So, based on the BBC series Coast, which we watched on DVD, here's a picture postcard for Shirley from our visit last weekend to the Giant's Causeway in County Antrim. I included a photo of my great-grandfather there, taken in 1896.
I used a whole sheet of card folded in half, and printed the photos at about 3" x 21/2". Distressed the edge of the card with Vintage Photo and Soot Black. Stamped a couple of birds in the sky from KittieKits Create a Scene, some grasses in the centre, and the birds and sand from Shore Thing along the bottom. Added my photos after inking the edges a bit, and then stamped the sentiment from Carte Postale.
A work of art it ain't, but I hope it brings a feeling of Ireland to Shirley .

Sabrina, This is really wonderful! The reason for it is even more wonderful that you have taken special interest in this project! I do love the Giant's Causeway. Have never seen it in person but have seen pictures before. I have seen a place like this in either Maine or New Hampshire in the US. It was on one of my Lighthouse finding trips. Or it could also have been in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I will have to find my pictures of it because right now I can't remember exactly where it is. The picture of your Great-grandfather is awesome!
