Julia set us a great challenge today, to use chalks. I wanted to find something I hadn't tried before, so I looked through the list in the first post here, and decided to try marbling with chalk.
I made two panels, one using blues, reds and purples, and one with greens, blues and yellow. I used ordinary card for the purple one, watercolour paper for the second, which I found worked better. I scraped the chalks over a shallow tray of water and quickly dipped the papers in. Let them dry, decided they needed fixative so sprayed them and let them dry again.
Stamped the lizard on the purple one, cut out and added Glossy Accents to his eyes. Trimmed and sponged the edges of the other one and added the lizard, and tiny silver gems in the corners. Layered onto some Sizzix Little Sizzles paper and a kraft base, both with their edges sponged. Oh, and obviously I added a bit of raffia.
All that drying time allowed me to try out some cashew nut brownies, but I think I should have moved my papers to dry somewhere other than the table I was also preparing my cookies at .
