I'm melting, I'm melting.............. oh no, wait, those are the words of the Wicked Witch of the West when she got doused with water. No, I haven't been doused with a pail full of water, I've been avoiding my stamp room as we are in the throes of a heat wave here and sadly, that room is not air-conditioned. It is not too easy to stamp with a fan on the highest speed blowing on you. The breeze is comfortable for keeping you cool, however, things get blown all over the place and ink dries before it's supposed to, and markers, well I won't go on.
So anyway, that is my excuse for 1) being late to the tea party and 2) for such a stinky card. Well, not so much stinky as not really up to par. I have to say that it does look a lot better in person, but it's not really what I like to produce especially for such a monumental tea party.
Yes, we are celebrating the 101st tea party and there is a story that goes with it that you have to read because I'm sure you'll be looking at the teapot and my card and wondering "what was she thinking????"!
A spotless dalmation that needs some spots! So we were to bring spots, or dots, ........ 42,000 of them to be specific. Someone else will be doing the counting thank goodness!
So I have spots on my background, spots on the ribbon, spots on the white circle (which could be a spot too, along with the Razzleberry circle), spots on the tea cup, and a spot of a brad. Hmph! I think I've seen enough spots for now!

Well, I think your card is cute. I think the layout, and all those cheerful dots / spots, and the dot brad make it cute. I like the sentiment on the teacup too.
I hope you get some cool where ever you are. I know just what you mean about the stamp room office with no A/C. My DH sweetly asked me if I wanted a ceiling fan in here. Akkkk! My work papers would get mixed up with crafting and I don't think my boss wants his reports embossed!

Hey, there Lorraine! I am right there with ya girlfriend! Except that we are experiencing a cold spell.....55 degrees yesterday, 7 inches of rain on the 4th....yeah, I am shutting my windows having with the wind blowing stuff around my stamproom, not a fan! But when its hot, its awful up there (stamp room is upstairs, no aire) and stamping is not so desirable in the heat!!! I can relate to you!
You are way to hard on yourself! This is a precious little card! You have dots, I mean spots, on your background, you have dots, I mean spots on your ribbon, you have dots, I mean spots on your white circle, your white circle could be a dot, I mean spot, your Razzleberry circle could be a dot, I mean spot!, you have dots, I mean spots on your tea cup, and you have a dot, I mean spot of a brad. Did you know you brought so very many dots, I mean spots???? Snort!

LOVE your card with its 42,000 dots! Very cute. Love the sentiment - it's tea time... time for iced tea! I sympathize with you about the heat... same thing here, and my brain doesn't function at top speed when it's sweltering in the stamp room. Too bad Mother Nature had to get in the act with the 101st Tea Party... temps and humidity hovering around 101 isn't the best.

Yikes, I would never have thought about a design like this. It's so uncomplicated and brings so much warmth and pizazz with just your papers, image and ribbon. I think this is just terrific. Great card.

Your card looks lovely to me, Lorraine. I like the layout with the teacup and lovely bow. I think grosgrain has to be my favourite ribbon - well, maybe a *tie* between that and organza. It always looks great.

While reading your description, I had conflicting visions of the Wicked Witch trying to do a card (how interesting would that be - actually I like Elphba or however you spell her name and feel she was very misunderstood) and you making a card with a fan on full speed and all your papers flapping - so sorry. Just move your stuff in the kitchen - that is what I do. I hate the lighting in my stamp room so I just drag my stuff out - I warned my DH way before we got married so he was already prepared. Well to your card....
I really like it. That cute image with all the swiss dots is really cute. Interesting color combo too - but it works well.
