My niece, Meg, recently got married and I was unable to go to the wedding. I had wanted to make her a special card, but ideas for wedding cards can be tough for me. I had heard of people doing this, but I took and dismantled her invitation and made this card from it! The flowers, beads and sentiment are NOT from the invitation, but the bg panel and the papers the panel is on, and that the sentiment is on ARE from the invitation. I also used a corner flourish from the invite on the inside and plan to use a couple other flourishes on the envelope.
The pearls were placed on blank circles on the paper(perfect for pearls!) and popped up the main panel from the card. The flowers were made with a stamp from Verve, Beautiful you(I thought it kind of looked like it would "go" with the invite paper used on the bg. I stamped the flower 3 times with versamark on chocolate chip paper, and white embossed 2 of the 3, left the 3rd one with just versamark. Used the 2 embossed flowers to cut out the pieces( one piece was left whole, with 4 swirls, attached to the center of the flower). I put the smallest swirls flat against the clear stamped flower, the next 4 swirls with a 1/16" dot, and the top panel of swirls with a 1/8" dot...topped the flower with a brown pearl, like those on the card.....hope that all makes sense!!
Stamped the sentiment and clear embossed from Very Versatile...thanks for looking, have a great night!!

Your card is so elegantly gorgeous. Wow! What a special keepsake this will be for your niece. First, because you made it and secondly because you used parts of her wedding invitation to make it. What a wonderful Aunt you are! Thanks for sharing your creativity!

What a beautiful card! They will love it. Love your flowers. Using their invite really personalizes it... I dismantled the invitation for a wedding we attended last fall and made a tri-shutter card with it...they loved it so I'll likely consider doing that for future weddings too.

What a BEAUTIFUL keepsake you've made for your niece! She's sure to appreciate all of the personalization you did just for the two of them. I think you've dressed this up just perfectly
