This week's Try a New Technique on SCS is a doozie! Joan Ervin challenges us to design a card using the pounded flowers method. Basically the idea is to pick florals from your garden, lay them on watercolor paper and smooch them through a cuttlebug or other die cut machine. My first three tries producd nothing but a muddy mess as I was selecting wild flower and other flowers with stems. When I researched the gallery further, i began to realize that florals like rose petals, hydrangeas, pansies, etc., are more appropriate for smooching. So back out to the garden I trotted when I spotted my lovely butterfly bush in full bloom. To speed up this story a bit, I had success and created an anniversary card for my parents. I like the results a lot. Thanks for the fun, Joan!
and . . thanx for looking, gallery peeps!

Splendid! I love what you did with your butterfly bush and leaves. The colors in your card are just gorgeous. And, what a great anniversary card with the lovely pearls and ribbon.
