What a delightful site Stef chose for us today. I loved all those little penguins with the red balloon, but as soon as I saw these Dancing Daisies I knew exactly what I was going to do. I'd been tidying this morning, and sorting out my Penny Black stamps now they have overflowed into a second tray, and I had the perfect stamp.
This is business envelope sized. For the base, I stamped the butterfly with Weathered Wood, and the sentiment with Versafine Black.
The image panel is Penny Black's Daisy Pattern. I stamped Canvas on some Basic Grey solid paper with Weathered Wood, and then stamped the daisies with black. I used red Liquid Pearls for the daisy centres, white acrylic for the petals and H2Os for the leaves, and then sponged the edges with red. For the next layer I used watercolour paper and washed it with the colour I'd used for the leaves. I can't remember where I'd seen someone using plastic canvas for embossing, maybe Julie Warner? Anyway, that was perfect to give me texture to match the canvas stamp. I added some little butterfly stickers, popped it up on foam and drew a red border around it.
