TLC276 – to create a card that is personal to someone and use YOUR favourite technique to create the card.
a year ago today, my world fell apart when i lost my son to brain cancer; he was my biggest fan and always encouraged me along my creative journey. he especially liked texture, dew drops and my bows, all of which iÂ’ve used today. we shared an ongoing joke about da vinci. being a passionate artist, his support and guidance meant so much to me; he gave me my first professional paintbrush to use to watercolour, which is my favourite technique.
i ordered a couple of lili of the valley stamps because they remind me of my son’s drawing style; his characters were so animated. the teddies also remind me of a stuffed teddy we “rescued” from the store shelf. i used this one for today because it reminds me of the time my son spent on the deck, reading, enjoying the wildlife in the backyard - we couldn’t help but hear the family of blue jays.
throughout this past year, my card making has helped me cope with my grief journey; specifically, the challenges that i’ve forced myself to participate in. in the process, i’ve “met” some wonderful, caring SCSers who have exemplified the true meaning of the kindness of strangers and i’m grateful for that. thanks for looking.
Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art. Leonardo da Vinci

Linda, your card is a wonderful tribute to a son who received the gift of art through you, his mom. From your seed grew a beautiful young man who, in his own right, found the path that led to all things beautiful. Art is a talent and a gift in my opinion. Your inspiration allowed your son the free expression of his feelings through his work. Today, his work continues only now through a mom inspired by her son.
Peace, sweet girl.

Your card and your story of your son has touched my heart. To lose a child has to be the most painful thing we have to endure on this earth.
This is a wonderful way to honor your son and everything that was so special about him. I send my love and prayers to you, Linda.

Your card is just precious; and your story just breaks my heart. I lost an infant son many years ago, and I know the pain that such a loss causes. My heart goes out to you, and your son would be so proud of his Mom for this loving tribute to him! You are a very special Mom, and I'm glad you have found some comfort in stamping, and in the great people that also share this craft. Take care.

this is a very sweet card, and seems so speical to me, I have lost two brothers and two sisters to cancer. So the reason behind the card is extra special. Do you have a web site where I can order this stamp? God be with you . [email protected]
