Stampin Up holds an Artisan Award contest annually and this is one of my 2 3-D entries. You have to make 5 cards, 3 scrapbook pages and 2 3-D items. I really loved this when it was completed!!
It is a 5x5 chipboard art journal from Stampin Up. I made it into a desk calendar. I removed the very vanilla pages and used the Sweet Pea DSP paper pack for the pages inside. Also used was cardstock in various colors: So Saffon, Pumpkin Pie, Taken with Teal, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, white.
I use da Bind-it-All machine to notch the pages to match the binding wire.
This is the front and then there will be other views and the inside pages. I spend HOURS and HOURS on this project so I will definitely be putting all the pages up too because I want SOMEONE to see all the hard work I put into it! =)
The front uses 2 pages from the Swet Pea DSP paper pack..the pages with the bird and flowers on it. The bird is on the original page and then I cut him out of the second piece of paper and popped him up over the first image. He is standing on the flower and then I made a clasp out of the other flower and used the Two Tags die to create the clasp, and cut the other flower out of the second piece of DSP and there is a magnet on the back of it and there is a magnet that is under the sheets of cardstock, so that it is hidden and doesnt show. It is easy to do this with a piece of thicker chipboard...just place your magnet where you will want it, draw a circle around it and hollow out a small portion til the magnet is flush with the chipboard, then glue it in the hole. then glue your cardstock front on. I used the heavy duty silver circle magnets so it would close and stay shut.
The alphabet used is the SU Timeless Type. Every other letter is popped up with dimensionals and it is pumpkin pie shadowed by taken with teal cardstocks.
