Vicky Gould gave the StampinB challenge to make a
patriotic card in honor of Memorial Day. I decided to do a red poppy as it has become the flower symbol for this holiday. It all started with a poem entitled 'In Flanders Fields'.
Hope you all have a wonderful, relaxed, and fun weekend while taking time to remember our military and those who gave their lives for our freedom.
Hope you'll join us this week. Remember to use the keyword, StampinB.

Lovely card and a mini-history lesson. A perfect way to start the day as we look forward to remember those who have given so much. Thank you for sharing.

Oh, Brenda...I just love the use of the poppy....good thinkin'.....in my youth, leading up to Memorial Day, my dad used to give me change to put in the cup of the Veteran's groups 'selling' them....then we would wind the wire around the rearview mirror of the car and there it would stay until it lost all color......about the time to buy a new one the next year....thanks for that memory.....my dad passed a while ago, but I am still so proud of his service in WWII and how he lost his arm in the D-day invasion in the service of his country.....and never really complained about it at all......he was a fine man and I miss him......so...thanks for that treasured memory....
as to your card...it surely is a wonderful tribute to those who serve and have served......

In Flanders Fields, where poppies grow, row after row.. yes - I'm very familiar with that poem I'm trying to remember whether a British or Canadian soldier wrote that. Gorgeous card , DA Benz!!!!We celebrate what we call Rememberance Day November the 11th.

What a wonderful Memorial Day card, dear Benzi!! I would have never thought myself to use a poppy as the central image, but that's so perfect. I love those bright blue stars you used and the lovely red/white striped ribbon. And your watercoloring, as usual, is outstanding. This is a true stunner

Benzi, I think those Memorial Day poppies hold some wonderful memories for many of us. Your poppy is just gorgeous and such a perfect choice for this challenge.

What a great Memorial Day patriotic card Benzi. You are doing some awesome work on the StampinB challenges. I'm sorry I haven't been able to get to many of them so far. I promise to try to do better soon. You did an incredible job here. LOVE your poppy and the bold look of the blue and red paper and stars. You outdid yourself again my friendzi!!
Hugzi!! TFS!!
