Today's color challenge is to use Soft Suede and Melon Mambo- easy enough! Well, not this time. I had just receive this set as my last SAB purchase so wanted to use it. I thought the surfboard would look great with a woodgrain, today's optional desert. No way. Three surfboards later, no woodgrain.
I also used a loose interpretation of this week's CAS sketch. This is a one layer card, with the surfboard cut out and popped up. I used a blender pen with ink from the pad to color in the waves a bit for a little dimension. I sponged a bit of suede in the corner to emulate a pile of sand. The clouds are sponged with Mambo using a punched out scalloped oval. I used Mambo ribbon tied off with raffia for a beachy feel.
This will go to a friend recovering from some elective surgery. On the inside I will write- 'Hope you are back in the swim of things soon.'
Thanks for viewing and commenting.
