I just adore small things....I spent some time in my past working with doll houses. I enjoyed furnishing them with little furniture, tiny books and other fun miniatures.
For this challenge I needed to focus on a place I had never visited (sounded hard to me-smiles). I browsed Flickr for pictures of Mackinac Island. I was impressed with the apparent love they have for the water! So I thought a beach scene would be great...until I realized I have no beach stamps. So then it hit me.....I could create the beach scene using copies and a white gel pen for foam on the water. Here I used an Inchie (1x) and a Twinchie (2x2)...I squished the Twinchie in white Stazon ink first so it would have texture - kind of like the stucco walls that make me think of Cape Cod (where they also love water) which is my home town.
I did one Stampin' Up Notecard size, and one 3x3 without sentiment.
Enjoy!

This is absolutely beautiful! I LOVE your beach scene, and the way you added texture to the panel. Another one of your cards that really deserves a frame and an art gallery!
I love your work girlgeek101, but I just don't understand your sizing.
Are you saying that the beach scene is 1x1, the cream is 2x2 and the card itself (brown) is 3x3 inches. How come mine doesn't look like this when I make it. Please help..
