Mounted the S at an angle for the Ways to Use it Challenge today.
DH belongs to the calligraphy club here in the DFW. They have issued themselves a challenge to do 2 new 6x6 letters each month with an alphabet show in mind for the future. I don't do calligraphy, but they let me play along anyway. Here is my 6x6 (framable) S for this month.
1. I copied a piece of classical music on the copy machine and cut it to fit a 6x6 chipboard square. Put Certainly Celery behind the area where the bird's nest would be located. Punctured through this area with my scissors, but did not tear yet.
2. Stamped Dot, Dot, Dot in the upper half for the sky, stamped Fine Flourish on the bottom half in celery.
3. Distressed and sponged the edges of the square with Soft Sky and Certainly Celery.
4. Stamped monogram S on pink parchment CS, overstamped with Fine Flourish in Pretty in Pink. Popped up with dimensionals and mounted on music BG.
5. Stamped leaves in mellow moss, cut them out. Stamped bird on WW, colored with ink pads and aqua painter. Cut it out. Stamped butterfly on banana, colored, cut it out. Stamped flowers with black StazOn on vellum, colored the back side with pink and celery marker. Painted frost white shimmer paint on back side of flowers. Let dry and then cut it out.
6. Made "nest" by tearing music and celery layers. Frayed ribbon. Put ribbon and linen string in nest. Added bird.
7. Mounted the remaining items with dimensionals, added stick and ribbon trim.

Oh beautiful!!! I love the pretty bird tucked in the nook of the S. I'm really loving the collage type cards as well. They're fun to make and fun to look at. nice job!!
