For today's Ways to Use It challenge, WT265: Angled Interest, a challenge to work a diagonal element into your design. This is also for this week's StampinB challenge #53 (April 8-15, 2010), to use turquoise, green, and white on a card, found here: http://stampinbsdesignteam.blogspot....l-15-2010.html
Finally (woo hoo!), this square card (5" x 5") completes the set of four musical bird note cards I am making as a hostess gift for my flute-playing sister when the kids and I go to visit her in Ohio over their April vacation in a few weeks. Now I just need to make a little note card folder/holder to package them in for giving . . .
Bird is paper pieced on top of a circle of sheet music cut from a vintage hymnal. Unfortunately, the paper (old!) ripped when I was cutting it. I decided to leave this imperfection in because (1) I was too lazy, (2) I didn't want to waste this precious commodity, and (3) I figured this unintentional "distressing" added to the charm!
The turquoise frame was punched using my new Martha Stewart Topiary punch around the page (PATP) corner/border punch set. I am lovin' this new toy!!!
The entire main panel is popped up on foam mounting tape (those ribbons I wrapped around the corners for my diagonals are thick!).
Thanks for looking!!
Emily

I really like your layout with the beautiful dp. Love your MS topiary punch, what a great addition to showcase your beautiful patterned bird and music sheet. Fabulous card Emily.
