This is for TheresaCC, our featured stamper for this week. I wasnÂ’t able to play yesterday, but was chomping at the bit to participate. TheresaÂ’s gallery is one I have long admired, so it was great fun to go perusing for a card to case. It just so happens that I have a birthday boy who is a very dear friend and happens to be a horseman. So TheresaÂ’s card here really called to me: Back in the Saddle by TheresaCC at Splitcoaststampers.
I changed up the layout just a tad. The card base is Gmund Savanna Perlo Structoros, which has a great texture to it. Over this I embossed Canvas in brown. I was hoping it would stamp erratically to give the background a rough and hewn look. I lucked out! Over this I sponged Tim Holtz Vintage photo. The embossed LeatherTex is truly embossed and looks like leather, but it came that way as part of a paper sample book. The horse was stamped in chocolate and sponged. I added eyelets through which I strung some twine. The birthday sentiment seemed kind of lonely, so I added a few square brads.
I still think itÂ’s missing something and itÂ’s not nearly as pretty as TheresaÂ’s wonderful creation, but I think it will suffice as a birthday card for a man who has a stable of horses!
Thank you, Theresa for the inspiration and for the opportunity to peruse your fabulous gallery again. Your creations are spectacular! Congratulations on being FS, a long overdue honor that is so well deserved!
Beth, youÂ’ve done it again! Thanks for the challenge! It was so fun, despite being late!
Have a wonderful week everyone!

What a great card! The different textures, different shades of brown, and the horse image come together beautifully. That's neat how the brads mirror the diamond shape of the criss-crossed twine - coincidence?!

Wowzer M, you've really pulled together an awesome card! Look at that textured bg. Oh, so masculine and I was just sure that side panel was leather. You really know how to get it done. What an amazing card!!!!!
