I made the background dp using a modified version of the waterwash technique. I started by saturating my watercolor paper with water, then washed it with bashful blue reinker using my aquapainter. Using the aquapainter, I streaked brilliant blue and sage shadow onto the paper, added some more water, then held it up on different angles to cause the inks to run all over. While still wet, I added several sprays each of green, blue and silver glimmer mists.
As that was drying, I printed the main image (digital# onto watercolor paper, then sprayed her with sealant to keep the ink from running. I colored her in using my aquapainter and SU! reinkers. Added Star dust stickles for the pearls in her hair. Then I sprayed her with irridescent gold glimmer mist #which dryed in tiny splotches on the watercolor paper-- the effect is actually very cool!)
I "framed" the image and the background dp on black cs, taped the two together, added some dew drops to the background paper, and then finally attached the whole to my base card and it was done! Sheesh! Not a difficult card, but it took quite a while for everything to dry!!
