I made this card for my best friend (a dog lover) who has supported me thru a debilitating illness and has never been too busy to turn up on my doorstop with a big container of soup so I don't have to cook. Love you sweetheart - you're the most beautiful friend a girl could have!!
This is also for the CAS54 Challenge of 'Wishing for Spring' - I just LOVE spring flowers esp. daffodils - so cheery! See this link for the deets: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
I love this Sizzix Textured Impressions embossing folder (from the Hello Kitty Spring Set #2) because the middle is blank for me to stamp my image & it fits LOTS of images I have in my stamp stash. Plus it easily fits in my CB. Makes for a quick and simple card because there is no layering. I made 3 similar cards on Saturday - just with different images but with the same ef - that's a record for me (and even though I was constantly interrupted by a 6 yo LOL!). I lightly added some chalks to the dry embossing using similar colours to the image.
The image was stamped with Memento ink and coloured with Gamsol and Prismacolor pencils and I added Kindyglitz to the flowers, some of the leaves and the dog's cheeks. It didn't take long to colour because the flowers/leaves aren't too detailed - just a flick of colour with the pencil and "smudged" with the paper stump/Gamsol - just to give an impression of shading/highlighting. I lightly chalked the background for the sky etc with the same colours that I used for the dry embossing.
I stamped the sentiment with Stazon ink and the two punched hearts are the leftover punchies from my EK Success Arrows Border punch (they look like tiny hearts to me).
Thanks for having a peek at my card!

Oopps! Sorry about that. I agree that it is a great ef. Love the work you did on it. And, isn't it great to have a friend like that? Best wishes with your health. Jill

I can see why you love that ef - I'll be on the hunt for it now too! Great card for your oh so thoughtful friend. Hope you're feeling better...

What an adorable card! Your colors and blending are perfect! Now I know why I am saving up for a CB and will mark down that embossing folder to my 'wish list'. It is great for using with stamped one layer cards.
