This card was made for the Splitcoast Stampers VSN - FEB10VSNB. The topic is the Olympics and this particular challenge is to make a card based on the Olympic Cowichan Sweater from the Bay, as we call the Hudson Bay Company here. At first I was completely stumped since I don't have any cariboo stamps or anything with argyle. I also have no grey paper. It wasn't until I went to the gallery and saw all the Maple Leaves on cards that I even went back to the picture and noticed the maple leaves on the base of the sweater.
I am actually really happy with the way this card turned out. It was very quick - under 10 minutes and the embossing of the Maple Leaf gives it a nice texture. I may make a set of them to give to my sister when she goes travelling abroad this summer. They would make great Canadian, thank you cards.
Challenges this card fits:
The CCEE Stampers challenge - use Red, Black and Creamy Caramel. I don't have Caramel so I substituted Very Vanilla since it's the closest I have.
The Colour Create Challenge - Red, Black and Off White.

The embossing on the maple leaf really makes it pop. What a beautiful card.
