This is for FS159 and today we are honoring Judi Rose (Jovialjudi) as our featured artist. Congratualtions, Judi. I had a great time browsing through your gallery this morning.
I challenged myself to create a clean and simple project like the one Judi did here. A Kind Word CAS54 A Kind Word by jovialjudi at Splitcoaststampers I usually use watercolor paper for everyting and rarely every paint on plain cardstock but I decided to do it today.
I kept Judi's exact layout on clean, simple white paper (although I think Judi used watercolor paper) but creating a colorful deckle framed scene that popped off the white. I changed the images and changed up the color combination but kept the same focus with the masked frame to show off thy sky and ground area around the image. I love the darling little Andre' carrying his great big watermelon and his precious little dog following right behind. I put a simple sentiment at the bottom of the card like Judy but did not use the brads on the right top corner. Instead I used the gingham on the corners of the scene to add a pop of bright color.

Kittie! Your scenic cards are always so amazing! How could you not fall in love with Andre` and his huge watermelon and following dog? Your painting is vivid, bright, and all around awesome!
