My DD went to another 6th birthday party - I've lost count of the number of 6th birthday cards I have made in the last year, and I'm sure I'll be making a whole lot of 7th ones this year LOL - at least they are mostly girls cards which makes it SO much easier & fun!
I'm also putting this card in the CAS22 Gallery (from a while ago) where the Challenge is "Birthday cards", but I'm sure if you just changed the sentiment, it could be used for any number of occasions - even as a Valentine card.
This was a very quick and simple card to make; it actually took longer to figure out what name to give it - I can never think of anything particularly creative! It is a top opening card which is my favourite card to make at the moment.
The image was coloured with Gamsol and Prismacolor pencils. I lightly chalked around the image with blue Kaisercolour chalk (for the sky) and the ground with a mix of green and brown chalks - I find using the chalks gives a much softer effect around the image rather than using the Gamsol Magic technique. The heart was punched, popped up on 1mm mounts and I added Kindyglitz to the edge of the heart plus all the flowers and the bird & mouse's cheeks. There is a Scor-Pal line underneath the ribbon and also on the pink cs above the punched edge.
I added pearls along the bottom with tiny hearts inbetween each pearl which are the left-over punchies from my EK Success Arrows border punch. The left-over punchies look like tiny hearts to me :-)
The ribbon was made in 2 separate elements and the bow itself was made with my Bow Easy.
Thanks for having a peek at my card!

This card is so pretty Jo. Love the colours, and your coluring, and your bow is perfect!
Best wishes,
Sam.
PS. I didn't realise that NCIS started this week. Was it last night (Tuesday)? I watched the season premiere of Grey's so I would have missed it if it was. I'll have to wait till it comes out on iTunes and catch up!

Absolutely darling. The card had me smiling for a long time afterwards. Sure to bring joy to anyone receiving it! I loved the color combinations, too.
