For the Opening Ceremonies Challenge at tonight's VSN (Virtual Stamp Night# mini! The challenge was to incorporate the colors of a flag of one of the participating nations.
I chose Finland, which is a white flag with a blue cross. I found out that all of the Scandinavian flags have crosses (like Switzerland is a white flag with a red cross, and Sweden is a light blue flag with a yellow cross). Finland's colors mean "The blue of our lakes, and the white snow of our winters" and I liked that!
I made my quilt-y background with Background Basics Retro from PTI. The white turned out to be the "cross" in the center. Okay, so my blue is Aqua Mist but it IS blue, hee! I used the snowman from Waltzingmouse Stamps "Sewing Box Christmas" and the sentiment from PTI's Vintage Christmas Additions! The silver brads must be for the flag pole, hee!
This card IS international....Waltzingmouse Stamps is owned by Claire Brennan of Ireland...thanks Claire and TFL!

This is great, what a cute snowman. I love how you paid tribute to both the colors and the design of your inspiration flag.
