Ticketbelle is hosting the January Sisterhood of the Traveling Card (SOTC) swap and her challenge was to create a card that celebrates your birth month and to use an icon from the month to "create a card that is pure you." I was born in January. Yep, I just celebrated a birthday a few days ago! The birthstone for January is garnet and the flower is a carnation, both traditionally thought of as red. Well, red is not my fav color so I did a little research and found out that folklore says the carnation was originally a pink/peach color, a favorite of mine. And I also learned that garnets comein many colors: greens, yellows, oranges, earth colored as well as the most well known red. One of the most rare garnets is a beautiful green color and is known by the name tsavorite and another is known a mandarine garnet. So with that information I created my card representing me using several of my most favorite colors, peach and green. I was so happy when one of my dear friend MiamiKel4 gave me this wonderful carnation stamp just in time for me to use it on my card. Thanks, Kels! I also decided to add a punched butterfly, another favorite symbol of mine.
