This is for today's Sketch Challenge, #265. The sentiment reads, *Warning: Beautiful Roses Can Have Vicious Thorns*.
Another warning- DH decided he would make a card too, and put his CS right on top of my still wet card, smearing some of the ink and Stickles! Ack! But after several hours of work, I decided I wasn't about to toss it, so salvaged it as best I could, and am posting anyway!
I stamped the rose stamp onto Brushed Gold CS, then stamped again onto paper vellum, mounting it on top, giving it nice depth of image. I colored the image with SU markers -I don't own Copics :-( from the back for softness. I blended about 6 colors together to try to get sunset colors- the colors of the famous Peace Rose. Did I succeed?
Stamped the smaller rosebuds again on Brushed Gold and cut them out, coated with Diamond Glaze, popped them up. I distressed and curled edges, used 2 shades of narrow organdy ribbon- twisted for nice effect, and dotted the piece with Stickles for some added bling.
This is a big piece- about 6 by 7 inches. I might just mount it and frame it for my wall. What do you think?
Thanks for looking; hope you like it!
Hugggs!

Fabulous card, Maddy! I love the roses done on vellum, with the coloring on the backside--you nailed the colors! The torn, distressed layers are beautiful and I love the added stickles! It's so wonderful to have you stamping again!
