Here's my creation for my DH. I spent lots of time on it, because he's worth it! I know it looks a bit frilly for a guy's card, but I don't even care.
On the red layer, I used Versamark and the Medallion background stamp (SU). Then, using Filigree background (SU), I stamped two different layers of Whisper White cardstock. In between them, I have a Melon Mambo-ish piece of cardstock, which I used my scallop edge punch on one side. I cut large and small flowers out of Vintage Vogue (SU), layered them with dimensionals, and used $1 pack rhinestones on the middles of each in matching colors. Also using Vintage Vogue border, I cut that out and popped it up near the bottom, and layered in a block sentiment from Anna Griffin. The top of it is also punched with the scallop.
The ribbons were both freebies: the red came from some Christmas gift, and the pink shiny "twine" is actually from a pack of Kotex sanitary pads!!! You know the drawstring to close the bag? Yeah, that's it! It's free and it's beautiful!

I think this is a beautiful, rich card which is definitley not too frilly, and your hubby will love it. i love the rhinestones - and what a fantastic use of the drawstring - you made me laugh when I read that! Now that IS creative!
