I received the most beautiful stitched angel on a Christmas card from a dear friend and went in search of patterns I could use to try out her technique. Found several and decided to test out this pretty butterfly to make her a thank you card as we will be spending a few days in Arizona with her and her DH in just 3 weeks!!
Decided to see if I could work in any challenges while I was at it and "wal-law" (to quote Mutnik), I found two that would work. First of all, the butterfly fits the Limited Supplies challenge (Palindromes) as it is completely symmetrical. I then chose my colours from a wrap I found on the fun website that Smilynstef gave us in this week's Inspiration Challenge. I chose this wrap: Metallic Leno Wrap I loved the colour and figured I could stitch my little flutterby friend in silver. A close-up shows the wonderful metallic stitching in the wrap.

I was pleased with my first attempt creating a stitched card. I didn't include a sentiment because I wanted the butterfly to get all the attention! I plan to hand-deliver it to Arizona ASAP!

What a beautifully crafted card to send someone you'll be vacationing with in a few weeks. This is spectacular. Wow, looks like this must have taken hours to do; it's so perfect.

Stitching, did I see and read about "stitching" and "by hand" Heather!! You get the gold crown this week for that. This is STUNNING and the most beautiful work. LOVE the foiled card stock too. You really went all out and did a spectacular job Heather. Your friend is going to "flip" over this one. However, your punch pal, The Fruitcake, does have to mention she doesn't see one single punch on this card. But, you are forgiven since you spent so much time on the hand stitching. Way to go Heather!! TFS!!
