My dear friend is turning 95 this year. He survived one year in Hitler's Work Camp, then rode a bike across Germany and Holland to get home to his family. He's a wonderful man, lives alone, makes furniture for his great great grandchildren and anyone else.
So, I really wanted to celebrate his life.
I made an accordian book, 19 pages and put 95 candles on it. I got 95 people (okay 3 are dogs, but he loves dogs) to sign this book. Most of the people were stragners to me and him but most were glad to sign the book.
I don't have the SAB set that says, The more the candles the greater the wish, but I thought it so appropriate, I did that part on my computer.
So, I mailed it to California and I can't wait to hear how he likes it.
thanks for looking!

What an awesome and thoughtful gift. Curious...how long did it take to make this fantastic card? Thanks for the inspiration for me to do something this great for someone someday.

It took a long time to make the card, but it was a lot of fun and really easty once I had the whole concept.
I put 5 candles on each page and then got the signatures on the back. When I had 5 signatures on that page I put a post it note and that page was done. That way I didn't have to count, it got a bit crazy at times, collecting the signatures.

What a lovely idea! I think your friend is going to be very touched with the effort you put into this. Thank you for sharing this card and the story behind it. And by the way, dogs are people too, even if they can't write. :o)
