I love playing with digital images so I decided to spend a little time creating something with the wonderful digital freebie that Julee Tilman created for this week's Verve release. I took the heart image, duplicated it several times and created a border around a black oval. I then filled the background with a yummy red paper by Shabby Princess. I changed Julee's text from black to white, then added a little shadow/border to it.
I printed the image on Epson matte photo paper - the black is amazing up close and personal...the matte paper makes it look almost velvet-like. I used my oval nesties to cut out the main image and matted it on textured black bazzill. Punched a couple of hearts out of the 'leftovers' and popped them up on dimensionals above the text. Card base is white textured bazzill. I haven't decided how I'm going to finish the inside yet...
Thanks for stopping by...

This is beautiful!! I love the high contrast!! The border you created is just stunning and looks fab on the red. That textured bazzill is the perfect background for your amazing focal point. So very nicely done

What a BEAUTIFUL Valentine card Heather!! LOVE your use of the digi image and digital paper. It's so nice to see a new upload from you. It always makes my day, especially since you are kind enough to leave comments on my cards - most of them kind, the rest . . . well, you're just lucky I can laugh at myself, right? I mean anyone who willingly calls herself The Fruitcake must be all about a sense of humor or just plain fruity I say!! Love how you duplicated the hearts too. Great modern tech card from my rubber room, punch buddy pal!!! TFS!!
