In honor of the New Year, Lois/Clownmom gave the StampinB #39 challenge this week to use your oldest stamp and newest tool.
Now, I had to think about this one and I took a bit of liberty so my card would not be wild and crazy. Not quite sure about my first purchase but think it could have a pumpkin scene and my last tool was a heart nestie....they just do not go together. LOL
So, I used the next to last tool I think I bought and that was a MS embossed hot chocolate punch and my stamp was from, I believe, my first online order just after I started stamping. I've been stamping abut 16 months and should remember my first stamp but I just don't. Just had to have this stamp and never used it. My stamp looks a bit Christmas but I made the snowman's hat in brown and I think it is just a wintry stamp now. Needed a birthday card so it all worked out to my advantage. I paper pieced just about everything (hat, gloves, snowman's clothing, foam), stamped heart again and popped up.
Thanks Lois, this was a fun challenge.

You didn't think a pumpkin scene and a heart nestie would look good together? How about " I {heart} pumpkin pie!"? -- that would work. But your second choice worked well too! Love the snowman drinking the hot chocolate! Thanks for playing with us each week!

I'm still jealous over this punch Benz. How does Hobby Lobby stay in business with you lifting their merchanidise all the time. Don't they have a photo of you in their entryway by now - DO NOT LET BENZI ENTER - ???? Oh well, next time could you lift 2 punches and send me the extra? Okay, back to your card. This is VERY cute and I'm with you, snowflakes and snowmen aren't just for Christmas. They are for the whole winter season. I LOVE paper piecing and you did an incredible job paper piecing your cute lil snowman Benz! Love your stickles, bling and liquid applique!! Hey, maybe if Hobby Lobby hires you to design cards to sell their products, you can actually get some legitimately and "free" or at least at a reduced price. You should look into that before you head to the slammer. I want 2010 to be a GREAT year for you!! Hugs and Happy New Years EVE!!!! TFS!!!

How terrific is this wintery snowman. I think you're right snowmen last all Winter so they can't be just for Christmas. I really like the mug punch too.
Happy New Year to you and your family. See you next year!!!
