WT250's challenge was to utilize a background stamp. I still had the grid/flourish background stamp by Hero Arts on my desk from yesterday's creation so I used that. Then grabbing up a discarded try at Art Impressions water, I put the two together and came up with a card I know any gardener would appreciate receiving.
I started with Art Impressions water color stamps. I carefully stamped each image, than took a paint brush, dipped it in water and then patted the image with the wet brush to get the water color effect. I didn't think it turned out nice at all. Like ewwww.
I really should have taken a before and after photo of this. When I had finished the scene I had stamped, it was ugly. Does incredibly drab, pale, flat and boring describe it for you? So I sat down to see if I could doctor it up and combine it with this mornings challenge.
The finished water color was blah. I mean really blah. I had probably made the mistake of adding just a little too much water when painting. So I decided to 3-d one of the images to see if that would help. The pot of ferns was kind of crooked any way and this was a way to fix that. I colored another pot, added 3-d mounting tape and began punching ferns (Martha Stewart punch) and attaching them to the back of the pot. I carefully added it on top of the original image, and poof! 3-d.
The rest of the scene still looked pale and drab. Why not 3-d more of the flowers? I used what I had on handÂ…puffy T-shirt paints. They come in colors and when they dry they are not sticky. I just dotted and scribbled colors in.
With everything else poppinÂ’ with color after the addition of the T-shirt paints I deceided to add berries to the ferns as well. Here I took crystal effects and dotted here and there. I sprinkled it with some champagne glitter very lightly to add a hint of sparkle.

I thought those were Liquid Pearls, not t-shirt paints . Whatever, they look wonderful, and yes - any gardener would LOVE to receive this. The texture and dimension is so lovely, perfect for a real garden. I especially like the wisteria, and the pot on the crate. Wonderful work!
