I made this card for the Simon Says Challenge, and this week's Challenge is: 'Let it Snow'. See this link for the deets: http://simonsaysstampschallenge.blog...t-it-snow.html Even though it's Summer here in Australia at Christmas, I really love to make snowy cards - maybe it helps me feel cooler when it is 100 deg F (38 deg C) outside!
I'm also 'popping' this into the CAS31 Gallery where the Challenge is to: Pop it Up. See this link:Forums at Splitcoaststampers The icicles and the blue snowflakes have been popped up on dimensionals/pop dots (or mounts as I called them).
The image was coloured with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol and I added Flowersoft Polar White to the penguin's ear muffs, the cuff on the hat and the pom-pom. I added a little bit of Kindyglitz Crystalina to the penguins' cheeks and ice-skates. I added a narrow panel of blue cs to the top of the card, then
ran a piece of white cs thru the CB using the Swiss dots ef, punched one side with my MS Icicles edge punch, then added more Kindyglitz to the icicles. I made the ribbon in 2 separate elements then attached the icicles panel to the card base popping it up on 1mm mounts.
I punched the edge of a scrap piece of blue cs with my Fiskars Scallop border punch, then attached it to the white card base.
The blue snowflakes were popped up on 1mm mounts and I added tiny white pearls to these same snowflakes plus the stamped snowflakes around the penguins.
And I didn't even smear my wet glitter glue - I think that's a first for me!! Thanks for having a peek at my card!
