Here, at last, is my card for today's WT - carol inspired. I'd been thinking that I hadn't made a card with this stamp this year, so today was the perfect chance - While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night. And also, from the sentiment, Joy to the World, the Lord is Come.
I love carols - we always had carol singing at home on Christmas Eve.
5 3/4" square card, covered with purple Bazzill sponged to make it darker. Green layer is Basic Grey - Pheobe, I think, corner punch is Fiskars Heritage 3-in-1. I sponged the edges with Royal Blue, and added star brads in 3 corners. Main image is Penny Black Shepherds, stamped with Versafine Black on watercolour paper and coloured with watercolours - plain for the shepherds and blue sky, H2Os for the purple shadows in the sky, the snow and sheep. Cut with Nestabilities and layered onto a scalloped background created on glossy card with alcohol inks. The sentiment is See-D's, stamped with black onto white card, sponged with Antique Linen, distressed and the edges sponged with Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo. It's popped up on foam tape.
I didn't exactly need another Christmas card - I'm giving away my excess as it is - but I love how this turned out and the various carol-singing memories it brought back. As well as carol singing at home, the various carol services we used to go to, and the school one every year. We always sang O Come All ye Faithful in Latin, the whole school, and I can also remember my year learning a French carol one year, and an Irish one another. I can just see us all in our brown uniforms in the lecture hall where we had choir practice!!
