Good morning! I have been working on a costume for my son Cody who will be in the Christmas parade next weekend. He is so excited about getting to dress up as his favorite zoo animal which is a monkey. He attended the zoo to learn how to be a zookeeper for a week and they asked him if he would like to be in the parade. Plus, I was really a bad mom and didn't get around to making his birthday card in October when he turned 9 years old...we were all sick with the flu back then. He has since then remembered! So here it is...
The Featured Stamper known as Michele, such a delightful gallery. I chose this card Featuring A Chocolate Monkey by mitchygitchygoomy at Splitcoaststampers. I struggled with this card because I think I was tired. My eyes weren't adjusting to my new reading glasses. Anyhow, I started out with using the cb swirls emboss folder on the brown c/s. I stamped the image onto white c/s with black ink. I colored the monkeys with prismacolor pencils, odorless mineral spirits, and blending stumps. I stamped the image again onto the dotted dp, cut out, and just paper pieced the balloon. I added 3 brads and used the piercing tool along the edges of the white c/s after I sponged with distress ink. The extra heart you see here wasn't going to be here, but I did an oopsy and made a boo boo with a dab of glue...darn it! I said to myself, I wasn't going to do this all over again. It was getting late, and any later I wouldn't be able to get up for church. So, I used the cb mini heart and added it to cover the spot. Does it look ok? Adhered to brown and yellow c/s. Mounted on with ms pop dots. I used the window punch, hand wrote the sentiment, and attached using pop dots also. Thanks for dropping by and viewing my card. Have a wonderful Sunday!
What do you think?
Bonnie
Things I changed:
1. image
2. omitted the ribbon (it's for my son, he thinks
ribbons are for girls)
3. changed the sentiment placement
