Hi! This card was made for today's Clean and Simple Challenge: Sponging. I went one step farther and made it a one layer card.
I have to say, sponging is the easiest way for me to add color to ANYTHING! I sponge pretty much everything that can be sponged. The deer was stamped and cut out to use as a mask.
I made a reverse mask by cut out a Spellbinders Labels 3 die in the CENTER of a 4 1/2" square. I cut my paper to have my finished card be that size and folded it in half. Next, I placed the mask over the front panel of the card and used masking tape to fasten it to my stamping table. The deer was stamped in Prussian Blue. Next, I put the deer mask on the stamped deer and stamped the tree in Prussian Blue. I did not ink the entire image, as you can see the tree looks like it's in the snow. I off-stamped the image for the background.
Next, I sponged in Seascape. I sponged in Reflection Blue and Prussian Blue around the edges of the reverse mask to get a dark border around the scene.
Finished size: 4 1/2" square
Total time to complete: 7 minutes
