Now I am sure that anyone stumbling across this gallery is going to look at all those silvery Christmasy cards and think that this card is out of place. So I guess I better explain...
Now all of you who know me, are you suprised that there is a butterfly on this card? Well, Cindy did say bring anything that can fly... But that isn't who I had in mind to help Santa.
I first thought about asking the EASTER BUNNY because it is his off season, but he told me he has to visit a lot of family at Christmas time (He is still a bunny afterall. All those kids) I next asked Leprechaun Louie, but he said that he and Santa had a falling out hundreds of years ago and he didn't want to talk about it. I got the feeling it had to do with Mrs. Santa. I was almost ready to give up when I thought of NAGFA. You know, the North American Garden Fairies Association. I talked to their president, Rose. She said that they would love to help Santa with his dilema. Christmas falls in their off season and they are always looking for something to keep busy with. All they ask is that the teapartiers not plant their poinsettia plants after Christmas, because they have to work so hard to keep them alive.
Well there was my story. I brayered my card with blue and green. I outlined the edges with my embossing pen and silver ep.(Had to get that really shiny silver in there.) I added glitter to the wings of the butterfly and to the fairy. The fairy and watering can image were colored with prisma colored pencils. I tried stamping the watering can on tinfoil, that was a failure. I stamped grass using a really old grass stamp and 3 different colored green inks.
I want some of that jiffy popcorn. I hope there is still some left.

Marilynn,
What a great story! That leprechaun always struck me as a cranky kind of guy, who could get mad at Santa.
I love the NAGFA,what a cool bunch of fairies. Such a pretty card too!

Delightful image, delightful card, delightful story. Glad you colored out of the box, or is that out of the lines? At any rate I like the different take on the challenge.

Love your silver embossed border - that's plenty of silver given all the wings you're bringing along. Certainly the rose fairies don't have much to do at this time of year.

I agree with sputnick, or mutneg, or kickmud, or whatever her name is! Your butterflies are gorgeous...but oh yeah, its not about the butterfly is it! Hey, just between you and me, I heard the whole Louie thing was about Mrs. Claus too. Do you know that Mrs. Claus' favorite color is green and that she has a green and white furry santa suit that she wears when ever she goes out of town?? Sounds fishy to me! Don't tell anyone I told you that! Mrs. Claus is already bent outa shape about the elves gettin' squished!!!
Wow, your coloring is magical..just like your garden fairy! What a beautiful *use-able* card! So glad you thought of the Association but then you are Ms. McGyver.....git er done any way you can! Giggle!
The popcorn sorta got smooshed.....the teapot landed a little cockeyed! The navigation system froze up, go figure!
