For Inspiration Challenge IC204 Franz Porcelain from Precious Possessions. I really need to get going on some Christmas cards, so was immediately inspired by this lovely Nativity Scene http://stores.preciouspossessions.co...=Holy+Nativity.
I have a Nativity Scene that was given to me and my older brothers the Christmas I was one year old (MANY years ago LOL). It was always my job to place Jesus in the centre after all the other figurines were in place and then turn on the special light in the back of the stable that casts a lovely glow. Over the years, I took over the entire assembly, so when I got married, my mother let me take it with me. 48 years later, it still holds a special place in my Christmas decorating - and every year I read the note that my Grandma wrote on the back and I think of her -- and my mother who is now also gone.
So - I wanted to keep this card simple and think I will be using it as one of my main cards this year - mass production in mind!
Stamped the Inkadinkado image onto watercolour paper and then added just a touch of colour with my copics. Layered in SU Pacific Point and some DCWV pale yellow and then popped up the image on a slight angle. Added a couple of silver brads to finish things off.
This card is slightly smaller than a regular A2 card -- 4" x 5.5" -- that way I get 3 cards bases out of a single sheet of 12x12.
Thanks for taking a peek!

Laurie, I loved your story. I did the very same thing w/my children while they were growing up. My manger is I dont know how old, but it's been passed on to my daughter since she was always the one to place the infant in the cradle. What a wonderful tradition you've created for your children. I love your card. Highlighting it w/just the images colored is remarkable! Absolutely wonderful card.

What a simple and elegant card. And a lovely story /memories too. We used to have a crib with a little thatched roof that played Silent Night, but I don't know who has it now.
