I struggle with the "appropriate?" question regarding sympathy cards also. It is so much more than a question of whether a card is "pretty" or "nice" or ... whatever.
Maybe the answer is really that you need to have a selection available, because what would be "appropriate" for one occasion would not be right for another.
That said, I really like your card!

I love the label shape on this! And, I agree that it is certainly appropriate--it all depends on the person receiving it (what they like, what their state of mind is, and why the card is being sent)--you don't always need to be dark and somber.
