When I saw Roxie's sketch this morning, my first thought was what a good Christmas card the sketch would make. But then there was a gentle plop onto the porch floor - and there were the Verve stamps I won in the WCMD challenges. Plus DH was a bit taken aback when I only offered him seven cards to choose a birthday card for his sister. (For various reasons, I didn't feel she deserved any of my most favourite cards). So I thought I'd better up my supply of run-of-the-mill birthday cards.
A2, all papers Basic Grey, all Blush except the little squares and sentiment. I stamped the butterflies onto patterned paper and the base squares. Coloured the base ones with blue pencil, cut out the wings from the patterned paper and stuck them on with glue at the body, up on foam at the tips. Added Liquid Pearls for the bodies, and Sakura Stardust clear on the antennae. Corner punched the two rectangular layers. All edges sponged - ColorBox Aqua, Pink Pastel and Dark Brown. I dropped the centre panel by about a quarter inch - hope that was OK.
Woodware sentiment, paper flower and that's about it.
I'd still like to make a Christmas card if time permits. If not today, this sketch will be on my list for my Nov CCC09 card quota.

This was some of my favorite Basic Grey dp, Sabrina; I always thought it so beautiful, and it looks lovely with your images. The paper-pieced butterflies are exquisite, my friend. Beautiful work!
