I love red and olive together. Actually, I don't know what I would do if I didn't have olive to work with. It is my absolute favorite green of all greens to work with. I loved the red rose and the olive scroll flourishes in the inspiration piece and the designer paper I used shows the two tones of color although not in a scroll background.
Painting the Sarah Kay images is a delight. Each one I have worked with has inspired me to keep moving through the collection. This sweet little girl taking her charitable gift to someone's door is so precious to me and I loved creaing the drama of the dark brown door along with the white snow to show her off in her red and green. I painted the whole scene using a watercolor brush and reinkers. The snow was made with Liquid Applique. I thought the simple gingham bow was just the perfect embellishment to draw one more bit of red out of the scene.

I just love how you framed your gorgeous work with the nestabilities. And, you're definitely right about that beautiful bow bringing out just the right amount of red. This card is just amazing!

I agree about the olive.......it blends with so many colors, and of course, my favorite, RED. Love your scene, and the RED and RED ribbon make my heart sing!!

This is just darling! I love how you make those images come alive and love how you placed the main panel off center and offset it with your beautiful bow.
