I love the Twisted Sisters Challenge each week and this week's is to make a Thanksgiving card. As we don't celebrate Thanksgiving officially I thought I would let myself be inspired by the colours of the season - fall or autumn as we say here! I love the rich warm colours of this season and always find inspiration in the leaves on the trees - what an array of beauty for the eyes!!
I have embossed the butterfly image onto white CS and sponged around the edges. The background DP is from a book that has fallen apart and I have had it sitting there for ages to throw out, but decided that I have a much better use for it....using it on cards. I embossed the page with Divine Swirls to add more texture and to also give the impression of movement. I then tore one edge and sponged around all edges, backing it with rust CS, and adhered it to the card. Ribbon was attached across the card and knotted, the main image adhered to it and then 4 moon drops from none other than Peggy (aka Marilyn Prrestonn) added as a final touch!
This is also for the Crafty Creations Challenge: http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/
where embossing is featuring this week! I have done both wet and dry embossing - so this should be fine!
It is also for the Our Creative Corner Challenge: http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/
which is all about fall works well for this card!
Thanksgiving - we all have so much to be thankful for don't we!! I thought when I turned 50 that it was the worst thing - but since then I have seen that I am blessed to be able to get older, many don't have that chance - for that, I am so thankful!! Thank YOU for stopping by and for your encouraging comments, they mean so much to me! You can find me on my Blog: http://lovelylindascraftcentral.blogspot.com/

Beautiful! Love your use of the page, and the way you did the edges, the L edge looks almost burnt! Those corners are wonderful, are they brads? Love them! A truly amazing card! TFS. : )

Oh Linda I am so with you of all the seasons, Autumn must surely be the most fabulous, with the rich changing foliage nothing can compare with the beauty of nature's transformation. What a stunning Thanksgiving card you have created I love the metalic corner embellishments with the pumkins on and to use the pages of the book that has fallen to pieces perfect. I can see the words clearly God Blessings and relationships (but silly me I found myself moving my head from one side of the screen to the other wanting to read more haha!) it didn't work!!! TFS.

A very pretty card, Lovely Linda. I love how you put your image over the page of the book and the embossing of the page. The hardware is so perfect and showcases your image so well. You are so right, everyday is a day of Thanksgiving.

Whooo Hoo look at this work of art, I knew it was yours as soon as the page came up. All that amazing sponging and hardware but I really love that page in the bg. I also was trying to read bits of it.
I agree that we all have so much to be Thankful for, every day is an adventure and brings both good and bad. And we have another chance to thank God for it or to lean on Him to make it ok. TFS
