I did the focal image over a year ago for a swap, I smeared the embossing paste as I removed the stencil on just one side, but I couldn't use it for the swap. I never throw anything out, because you never know when you might be able to use it. I've been known to cut up something with a mistake on it, and weave it back together or just use it as a BG and cover it with something else.
With this sketch I could just cut off the whoops and use the center of the original piece. The piece was made by brayering the blues and sponging the yellow moon, stamping the stampscapes image with stazon, then applying the matte black embossing paste-with all those steps-it really stinks when I screw up on the last one! Good thing I salvaged some of it. The dragonfly from Organic Grace, is stamped on vellum, with stazon, glossy accents applied on top and then some transluscent light green glitter on the glossy accents. The next layer is an old plaid BG I got at a garage sale, stamped in not quite navy and then I drew in lines in ink to make it more plaid like-got that idea from a plaid Schirmcat kicked up a notch. Love the sketch Rox.

Another great card! It's great to have the description, tips & ideas, too! My sentiments exactly--don't throw anything out!
