Today's way to use it challenge WT235, the only requirement was to use the color red. Red made me think of apples. OK, granted apples come in lots of colors, but I usually think of an apple as being red. I pulled out this set (Country Apple by Stampin Up) that I just HAD to have before it retired and rarely ever use (sigh).
I embossed the base card with a classic scallop Nestability square. I added some really inexpensive red “velvet” ribbon. I picked this up at a rummage sale, and it turned out that it is so old that you can’t even tie it, without it “flocking” apart. Sheesh! So I taped it down to the base card using some Scor Tape and then just folded a 2nd piece like a bow and stapled it down.
Next I added the matted apple. I stamped the apple in real red on white and separately cut out the leaf and stem adding a tiny piece of 3-d mounting tape for dimension. I also used 3-d mounting tape to attach the apple piece to the base card.
I had left over mini butterflyÂ’s from my last card, so I picked those up of my desk and added them to the card with another microscopic 3-d tape. I used a drop of crystal effects and dropped a pearl seed bead right in the middle.
Lastly I stamped the words (a $1 package of Studio G words from MichaelÂ’s) in real red. and rounded the corners.
