For this challenge, I made this 3 x 3 box from the SCS tutorial. It is for a gift for my cousin. On the top, I attached truly vintage buttons and a snap from our great grandmother. Some she snipped off, material and all...so fun to see. The button cluster on top is the way she kept "alike" buttons. Hope you can see the cotton string she threaded through them. She saved this from items bought in the bakeries. It came in many colors.

Great take on the vintage challenge. This is wonderful. I love how it has the extra special 'buttons' from your great grandmother. Love the pearls and lace in the doily. An awesome gift your cousin will always treasure, for sure! TFS. : )
ps. Thank you for the 'sweet' comment you left on my card! : )
What a beautiful way to incorporate family history! Love the way to stored her like buttons - we could all learn from those that grew up during the great depression! Your cousin will love this gift!

Thanks, Merle! I am the cousin who was lucky enough to receive this box and the contents as a birthday gift. It is prettier in person if that is possible.
You are one of the most thoughtful people I know and you are my inspiration. Thanks again!
